Meet our Baseball & Softball Instructors

Luke Darrah

Founding Partner

Coach Luke Darrah has been playing and coaching fastpitch softball for fifty years. He has spent more than 30 years coaching high school softball in the Summit and Portage County areas, leading Archbishop Hoban to a state title in 1991. Over the course of his career, he has earned three Coach of the Year honors.

In 1997, Coach Darrah took an All-Star high school team from the United States to Europe, where they played a series of games in Holland, Germany, and Belgium. He has coached and trained many athletes who have gone on to have outstanding college softball careers.

Coach Darrah also spent 35 years playing men’s fastpitch softball, participating in 14 ASA National Tournaments as a pitcher. He was named an ASA All-American in 1994 and was inducted into the Summit County Softball Hall of Fame in 2005.

Coach Darrah is now retired after 40 years of coaching high school softball.

Mike Darrah

Founding Partner

Mike Darrah has enjoyed an outstanding baseball career at Division II West Liberty State University in West Virginia. A graduate of Rootstown High School, Mike also played professional baseball for the Slippery Rock Sliders, Utica Brewmasters, and Washington Wild Things.

While at West Liberty, Mike was a four-year starter and a three-time All–West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference performer. He led the Hilltoppers in batting average, hits, and runs batted in during his senior year. Mike played numerous positions throughout his college career, including posting a 10–1 pitching record in his final season.

In addition to his success on the diamond, Mike was a three-year letter winner in football at West Liberty, where he played both safety and quarterback.

Trevor Pesicek

Instructor & Coach

Trevor has been involved in baseball for over 20 years. He played throughout his youth and continued competing at Kent State University, where he was a member of the Club Baseball team. Over the years, Trevor has played multiple positions, developing a strong understanding of every aspect of the game both on the field and from the dugout.

Trevor coached and managed at Darrah’s All-Star Academy for six years, where he gave private and group lessons, managed daily operations, and helped develop new coaching staff. He takes pride in helping players improve their mechanics, confidence, and overall baseball IQ through individualized instruction and consistent feedback.

After graduating from Kent State University with a degree in Business Management and a Sales Certification, Trevor began working in medical sales while continuing his passion for baseball through coaching and instruction.

Hannah Welling

Instructor & Coach

Hannah has been playing softball for 20 years. She played on travel teams for 9 years and at Baldwin Wallace University for 5 years. Over the years, she has played many positions, with her primary position being pitcher. She was also a switch hitter and slapper.

Hannah took lessons at Darrah’s for 10 years before going off to college and is now back as an instructor. After graduating from Baldwin Wallace with a major in Education and a minor in Coaching, she began teaching 10th-grade English at Glenville High School, where she currently serves as the varsity girls’ basketball coach.

Collin Floyd

Instructor & Coach

Collin has been playing baseball for over 20 years. He pitched for Youngstown State University, where he became one of the most decorated players in program history. During his career, Collin became YSU’s all-time strikeout leader with 323 strikeouts—ranking second in Horizon League history. He also set records for the most games started (57) and finished third in program history with over 318 innings pitched.

Collin was named Horizon League Pitcher of the Year, earned First-Team All-Horizon League and All-Academic honors, and was selected to the ABCA/Rawlings East All-Region First Team. He was also a three-time Horizon League Pitcher of the Week—the only pitcher in the league to earn the award three times in one season.

After college, Collin continued his baseball career playing for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers under Head Coach Coco Crisp. Now, as an instructor and coach at Darrah’s All-Star Academy, Collin shares his knowledge and experience with young athletes, helping them develop strong mechanics, mental toughness, and a true love for the game.

Zach Rogers

Instructor & Coach

Zach has been involved in baseball for more than a decade. He enjoyed a successful high school career at Theodore Roosevelt High School, where he was a three-year letter winner, team captain, and Suburban League All-Star as a corner infielder for the Rough Riders.

After graduation, Zach—known by his players as “Coach Rog”—returned to his alma mater as an Assistant Coach for the Theodore Roosevelt High School baseball program. He also coaches the 16U Titans Travel Ball Team alongside Mike Darrah.

In the fall of 2024, Zach joined Darrah’s All-Star Academy as an instructor, where he works with players of all ages and skill levels. Known for his focus on relationship building, attention to detail, and individualized instruction, Coach Rog tailors his training to each athlete’s unique needs—helping them grow both on and off the field.
